To eliminate the building wiring being at fault please disconnect completely the load side and re-test in isolation, check your device is testing the correct class or RCD and replace the batteries. Yes, but not all other brands of RCD’s test switches might not operate; this is due to the wiring of the test resistor inside being wired between phase and neutral or phase and phase. All of Lewden’ s 4 pole devices test resistors are connected between phase and phase so will work without a neutral.
